8 Life Hacks You Can Follow To Become A Positive Thinker Today!

MNo one likes being negative and the emotions that come along with it, such as jealousy, envy, grief, anger or depression. Being around it is even worse. However, being a positive thinker and having a positive perception of life will not only improve the quality of your life, but of those around you. If you follow the 8 simple life hacks down below, you can become a positive thinker today. So lets get started!

Hack 1: Do Good Things For Other People
You should always strive to help out other people. The satisfaction you will get from helping others will far outweigh any selfish and grandeur desires of your own. That feeling you get from helping others, that we have all once felt, will bring purpose to your life and will fill you with positivity. So get out and do your best to improve someone else’s day or assist their needs.

Hack 2: Practice Resilience
This is one of the most important steps. Just like my post titled “Press On” and “Why You Need Pain And Suffering In Your Life,” practicing resilience will strengthen everything about you. The more hardship you experience, the more resilient you become. So welcome it into your life! Your true character will always show under great pressure or while facing adversity. Take it from the great Russian author Fyodor Dostoyevsky, “For broad understanding and deep feeling, you need pain and suffering.”

Hack 3: Develop And Bolster Relationships
Everyone has something to offer, even if they simply show you how not to live life. By keeping an open mind, and having a diverse selection of relationships, your outlook on life will ultimately change. So continue to meet new people and build those relationships. You can live vicariously through them, open your eyes to different views of life and all the while, become a more tolerant and positive individual.

Hack 4: Appreciate The World Around You
Take a minute to just look around you. Isn’t the world just an amazing place! As we get wrapped up in all of the trivial matters in today’s day and age, we seem to forget just how amazing our world is. The magnificence of our oceans, the capabilities of our technology, our social interactions and everything else that makes us human. Thus, try daily to appreciate the magnificence of the world, and let it humble you and bring positivity to your life.

Hack 5: Practice Mindfulness
I am sure you have read a barrage of articles in the past few years about mindfulness. Well, they are all true. Being mindful about people, places and situations around you will bring peace and serenity to your life. While there is chaos all around you, you can continue to stay calm, focused and determined. Not overwhelmed by your emotions. Thus, be intentional with everything you do, and take control of your emotions, not letting them control you.

Hack 6: Establish Goals That Can Be Accomplished
Every month, I like to set 5-6 goals that I know can be accomplished. Which is huge! Setting goals helps you stay focused and achieve what you desire. Plus, it gives you fulfillment and purpose when you complete them. Take it simple at first. Set goals like, I’d like to go to the gym once a week, or I want to put $50 in my savings account this month. These are simple goals that can be completed, bringing you drive, purpose and most importantly, positivity to your life.

Hack 7: Learn Something New
The day we stop learning is the day we die, as many like to say. And it is so true. We were born curious creatures and when you stop feeding that curiosity, life starts to feel dull and insignificant. On the other hand, continuing to learn new things opens your world to never before seen possibilities. It can be simple like learning to paint, surf or garden, yet will bring much joy and positivity into your life.

Hack 8: Choose To Accept Yourself, Flaws And All
This is the most important of all the steps. We are our own worst critic, and can at times, make it torturous to live within our own bodies. But beauty comes from within, as cheesy as that has always sounded. So with time, learn to accept yourself, for others already do. Laugh it off! Life is too short to be stressing over such trivial matters. The sooner you accept yourself, the sooner positivity can take over your life.

I know this is a lot to take in all at once. But don’t fret. Take it slow. These are all life hacks I have used in prison to turn my world from a dark and dreary one into one filled with positivity and laughter. Yes, that’s true.
